Melanie Royall and Kate Cool are the founders of The Royall Cool Team at Joyner Fine Properties in Richmond, Virginia. Built on trust and a shared commitment to their clients, their partnership developed organically—first as friends and colleagues, then as collaborators who realized how well they worked together.
Kate began her real estate career in 2020 as an operations coordinator, gaining a valuable behind-the-scenes perspective on the business before earning her real estate license the following year. Melanie brought her experience as a licensed agent, along with a natural inclination toward collaboration and mentorship. Their different paths into real estate gave each of them a distinct perspective and strengths that naturally complemented one another.
In 2024, Melanie and Kate began officially listing homes together, and the response from clients reinforced what they already knew: they were better together. Their natural balance gave clients the benefit of two agents working toward the same goal, each bringing something different to the experience. In 2025, they made the partnership official with the launch of The Royall Cool Team.
